TCL has introduced its newest television series, the QM8K, which operates on Google TV. This latest model boasts significant enhancements, particularly in its speaker system and various other features designed to elevate the viewing experience. A standout innovation is TCL’s “ZeroBorder” design, which aims to deliver edge-to-edge viewing.

The company claims that this design revolutionizes how TV panels are constructed, although it represents just one of several improvements in this model. One noteworthy upgrade is TCL’s Halo Control System. This technology sharpens the contrast between bright whites and dark blacks, resulting in a more refined image quality.

The system utilizes a new Super High Energy LED chip and a Super Condensed Micro Lens, alongside a new TCL Micro Optical Device (OD). According to TCL, the combination of these components leads to high brightness and light efficiency while minimizing light overlap, thereby eliminating blooming and halo effects. This ensures that edges between bright and dark areas remain clear and sharp.

In addition to visual advancements, the QM8K also features premium audio with Bang & Olufsen speakers. While many of TCL’s recent models offer Dolby Atmos support for immersive sound experiences, the QM8K takes it a step further with superior audio quality, thanks to the collaboration with Bang & Olufsen. The television also integrates Dolby’s FlexConnect technology, which synchronizes the built-in speakers with wireless speakers throughout the room for enhanced surround sound.

Currently, this feature works with the TCL Z100 smart speaker, but more compatibility is expected in the future. The QM8K TV is designed with a nearly borderless display, allowing for an expansive viewing area. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, catering especially to gamers.

The television launches today, available in four sizes starting with 65 inches and extending up to 98 inches, with prices beginning at $2,299.99. The initial 65-inch and 85-inch models are now available at Best Buy, while the 75-inch and 98-inch versions are set to be released later this month.
