Samsung appears to be making significant strides toward the release of the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 series. Recent discussions have highlighted both the standard Galaxy Watch 8 and the comeback of the “Classic” model. New evidence suggests that the official launch could be imminent, particularly with recent developments from the FCC. Xpertpick has identified the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 within the FCC listings.

Generally, this certification indicates that a new product will be available for purchase in just a few weeks. Approval from the Federal Communications Commission is typically one of the last steps manufacturers need to take before bringing a device to market. The FCC has provided its certification for two new Samsung smartwatches with the model numbers SM-L335F and SM-L335U. Previous reports hint that these models correspond to the standard (non-Classic) Galaxy Watch 8.

The FCC’s documentation confirms that these variants will support LTE connectivity, enhancing their usability. Moreover, the Galaxy Watch 8 is expected to offer a variety of connectivity features. Aside from LTE, the watch will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a, Bluetooth 5.3 for user-friendly pairing, GNSS for precise location tracking, and NFC for contactless payments. A noteworthy addition is the inclusion of Wi-Fi hotspot and Wi-Fi Direct features, which will allow users to create a network on the move or transfer files directly from the watch.

The watch will also support 10W wired charging alongside wireless charging capabilities. If Samsung adheres to its traditional timeline, the launch of the Galaxy Watch 8 series may coincide with its second Unpacked event of 2025, likely scheduled for July. Alongside the watch, Samsung may unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and potentially the more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip FE. With the FCC’s certification complete, the official launch of the Galaxy Watch 8 series seems to be just around the corner, generating excitement among smartwatch enthusiasts for its innovative features and connectivity options.
