YouTube Music has introduced a feature allowing users to share song lyrics as stylish images, a function that Spotify has offered for several years. This new tool enables users to highlight lyrics, select a background, and post their creations directly on social media platforms.
However, it seems that this feature isn’t yet widely accessible. Sharing lyrics on social media is a popular way to express one’s feelings or current mood.
Whether it’s a bittersweet love song or an energizing anthem, posting a lyric card provides insight into your current musical preferences. While it’s surprising that YouTube Music is just now implementing this feature, it’s better late than never.
With the recent update, YouTube Music users can share lyrics directly from the mobile app. The process is simple: select a few lines, choose a background, and the app generates a visually appealing image, which includes the album art, song title, and artist’s name.
Users can save this image or share it instantly on platforms like Instagram or WhatsApp. The new “Share” button can be found under the Lyrics tab.
After highlighting the desired lines, users can customize the image with a variety of background colors before saving or sharing their creation. This update follows the introduction of real-time lyrics in 2023, which enhanced the in-app display with larger text and dynamic highlighting.
Unfortunately, the sharing feature appears to be in a testing phase, as it hasn’t been rolled out to many users yet. There has only been one confirmed report of it on Reddit, indicating limited availability.
This update accompanies another recent feature called “consistent volume,” which aims to maintain a stable audio level when transitioning between songs. Overall, the new lyrics-sharing feature adds an exciting element to YouTube Music, and hopefully, it will soon become available to a wider audience.
