While these devices remain functional and reliable, their consistent design language over the years has led to a feeling of repetitiveness.
However, for those willing to wait a couple of years, the forthcoming iPhone 19 Pro is expected to feature a significant redesign that promises to reignite interest. According to Gurman’s insights, the iPhone 19 Pro series will showcase a “bolder” design that will emphasize the use of glass. Apple has traditionally combined glass and metal in its iPhones, and while the current iPhone 16 Pro models feature glass backs, it often feels integrated with the metal frame. In contrast, earlier models, such as the iPhone 4, had a clearer emphasis on glass, which contributed to their distinct aesthetics.
As for the upcoming iPhone 17 series, some design adjustments are anticipated, though they are not expected to be dramatic. One notable change will be the redesigned camera module on the back, which will now extend towards the sides of the device. However, this new configuration has raised concerns about an unsightly gap between the camera lenses and the flash module.
