If you are a fan of streaming services, you may be familiar with Max, formerly known as HBO Max. In May 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery chose to rebrand its popular streaming platform. Now, in 2025, the company has unveiled a new look that focuses on a redesigned logo.

Previously, Max’s logo featured a bright blue color, but the latest version showcases a sleek black-and-white palette reminiscent of HBO’s classic branding. As reported by Variety, the new logo was updated across the streaming service and its social media accounts recently. This redesign creates a visual connection between the Max brand and HBO, fostering brand recognition. It is also notable that Max’s new aesthetic is similar to Apple TV+’s monochrome branding.

Over the upcoming weeks, users can expect to see the new logo and color scheme reflected in various marketing materials. For context, Max was formed from the merger of HBO Max and Discovery+, which occurred in the subsequent year after Warner Bros. Discovery emerged from the consolidation of WarnerMedia and Discovery. At its launch, Max opted to move away from the HBO branding and replaced the previous deep purple color with bright blue.

The then-global CMO mentioned that blue was chosen because it is considered “the most liked color, universally.” This change was intended to indicate that Max had expanded its offerings beyond HBO’s premium programs to include a wider array of content. In a competitive landscape filled with streaming services, the new logo and branding will help Max stand out among other platforms that often choose blue as their branding color. In related news, Max has also recently announced its availability in Australia, following its decision to remove extra fees for specific content.
