This new chip is anticipated to be Qualcomm’s most powerful offering to date, with a formal debut expected later this year. According to information shared by the tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is set to deliver considerable upgrades.
The leaked details highlight that the upcoming flagship chipset will incorporate a larger cache and improved memory support, along with substantial advancements in both its GPU and CPU capabilities. Specifically, it is reported that the GPU will feature a 16MB cache per compute unit, translating to a potential 32MB of L2 cache—an increase from the 24MB found in its predecessor.
Additionally, the chip will support LPDDR6 memory while remaining backward-compatible with LPDDR5X, offering manufacturers an option to manage costs effectively.
