This collaboration aims to enhance Ballie’s abilities, allowing it to assist with a variety of daily tasks and provide health and wellness advice. The AI-powered robot is set to debut this summer in both the United States and South Korea. Samsung and Google have a long-standing partnership that spans nearly a decade, frequently resulting in innovative collaborations beyond just their mobile operating system, Android.

In a recent announcement, Samsung revealed that Ballie will utilize Gemini’s technology to enhance interaction, enabling the robot to communicate naturally with users. With these advancements, Ballie will be capable of handling tasks such as greeting visitors, controlling lighting, and managing schedules, significantly improving the home experience. Ballie’s functionality stems from Gemini’s multimodal capabilities, which combined with Samsung’s proprietary language models, allow the robot to interpret various types of data including audio, visual input from its camera, and environmental sensor data.
