A recently discovered internal firmware build for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has emerged from Samsung’s Korean firmware database. This build follows earlier sightings of a similar version on a global model.
After several months of delays, Samsung recently commenced the rollout of the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series and its latest foldable devices. Due to these delays, there are indications that Samsung will skip intermediate updates, with One UI 8.0 set to be the next major release.
Samsung is expected to unveil Android 16-based One UI 8 during its second Unpacked event, scheduled for July 2025. Recently, a tipster highlighted a global Galaxy S25 Ultra model operating on Android 16, likely equipped with One UI 8, ahead of any official announcement.
The same source has also confirmed the existence of an internal One UI 8 build for the Korean version of the device. Reliable tipster Tarun Vats has disclosed the build number of the internal firmware for the Galaxy S25 Ultra in South Korea, marked as version S938NKSU2BYD6, designed for model SM-S938N.
Previously, testers had identified this One UI 8.0 build during trials on the global variant. The recent leak suggests that Samsung has broadened the internal testing for this significant update, although no further specifics about the new user interface have been revealed.
In other news, reports suggest that the upcoming Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models will feature Android 16 and One UI 8.0 directly out of the box. Google’s push for an earlier Android 16 rollout appears to have accelerated the development of One UI 8.
However, the early stages of internal testing do not necessarily guarantee that users will see an expedited release schedule. Considering the substantial improvements introduced in One UI 7, One UI 8 is anticipated to be a more modest upgrade.
More details regarding One UI 8 are expected to surface in the near future.
