Recently, OPPO unveiled its new in-house smartphone imaging technology brand, Lumo, during the “2025 Imaging Technology Night” event held on April 2nd in China. This new brand is set to debut with the upcoming Find X8 series, comprising the Find X8s, X8s+, and X8 Ultra models. Following the launch of Lumo, there were concerns regarding OPPO’s ongoing partnership with the renowned camera maker Hasselblad. However, it has been confirmed that OPPO will continue collaborating with Hasselblad while incorporating Lumo’s technology into its devices.

During the introduction of Lumo, OPPO made it clear that both Hasselblad and Sony play significant roles in developing its imaging technology. The upcoming Find X8s series smartphones will prominently feature the Hasselblad branding within their camera setups, as depicted in promotional renders. Each model will combine the advanced imaging capabilities of both Lumo and Hasselblad. Notably, the Find X8 Ultra is expected to include a Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor along with an innovative “Danxia original color lens zoned temperature application.”

OPPO’s association with Hasselblad began in 2022 with the Find X5 series, continuing through subsequent models like the Find X6 and Find X7 Ultra. This partnership will extend to the new Find X8s series, showcasing the blending of both brands’ expertise in camera technology. Lumo is designed to bring both hardware and software innovations, all aimed at enhancing image quality. OPPO emphasizes portrait photography with Lumo, describing its technology as the Lumo Light Condensation Imaging System.

This system features a highly sensitive optical setup with various focal lengths, complemented by a cutting-edge digital imaging engine and ProXDR capabilities. Additionally, the Find X8 Ultra will utilize a supercrystalline blue glass over its light sensor, improving focus speed and minimum focusing distance. The full details of Lumo’s capabilities will be revealed at the Find X8s series launch on April 10th.
