Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 7, its Android 15-based update, to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, marking a much-anticipated moment for fans of its foldable devices. This rollout commenced in Korea and will soon extend to other flagship models, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. The introduction of One UI 7 has been highly awaited, especially after Samsung’s previous rollout of updates to most flagship phones last year.

The 2023 foldables, specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, are now finally receiving this update. However, it’s worth noting that the development process took longer than initially expected, though Samsung has not provided a specific reason for the delay. They attributed the extended timeline to the numerous changes being integrated into the new firmware without offering further official details.

The update is being pushed to several flagship devices, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Users in Korea are the first to receive notifications regarding the update’s availability. It’s interesting to note that other older Samsung models, including the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Tab S9 series, are receiving similar updates in the region.

Although the update may not yet be accessible for all devices, users should expect a notification prompting them to download and install it when available. A manual check can also be performed through Settings > Software update > Download and install. One UI 7 promises a comprehensive cosmetic revamp of Samsung’s software, featuring new design guidelines and an upgraded animation engine for smoother visuals.

Additionally, the user interface of system applications has been refreshed, along with enhanced customization options, providing users with a more personalized experience.
