In a recent update, Indian tipster Tarun Vats has indicated that the Galaxy S24 series is unlikely to feature the Now Brief function in the upcoming stable One UI 7 update. This claim stands in contrast to earlier reports suggesting that the feature would be part of the new lineup.
The absence of Now Brief in the latest One UI 7 beta has stirred curiosity, although there is a workaround to access it. Samsung is set to begin the rollout of the stable One UI 7 update for last year’s Galaxy smartphones on April 7, with the U.S. rollout starting on April 10.
The final beta build of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series was released recently, incorporating almost all new features from the Galaxy S25 series, but notably excluding Now Brief. Tarun Vats’ assertion that the S24 series will not officially include this feature adds an interesting twist, yet seems to contradict indicators from last week.
Reports had hinted that Now Brief would be available on the Galaxy S24 series post-stable One UI 7 update. An article on SamMobile mentioned that Samsung had integrated the Now Brief feature into the latest One UI 7 beta 6, though it is currently inaccessible.
However, a tipster managed to activate it via Activity Launcher on the Galaxy S24 series, leading to speculation that the feature could be enabled with the stable update. For those unfamiliar, Now Brief is an AI-powered tool designed to offer daily summaries tailored to individual users.
It summarizes daily plans, reminders for upcoming events, traffic updates, weather information, and even health insights. As of now, this feature is exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series phones running on the Android 15-based One UI 7 interface.
Whether it will be officially available on the Galaxy S24 series remains uncertain.
