Sony has recently revealed pricing for its new television models: the BRAVIA 2 II, BRAVIA 5 Mini LED, and the BRAVIA 8 II QD-OLED. Many of the prices are striking, and with the current economic conditions, there are questions about whether these prices reflect tariff costs.
Notably, the BRAVIA 8 II has seen a significant price hike in the U.S., while Canadian pricing remains relatively unchanged compared to last year. In their announcement last week, Sony introduced three new TVs for their 2025 lineup.
While they initially withheld pricing, the recently released figures reveal some concerning trends. Starting with the BRAVIA 2 II, the 55-inch model is priced at $699 in the U.S. and $849 in Canada.
The larger 65-inch version retails for $799 in the U.S. and $999 in Canada, while the 75-inch model is priced at $1,099 in the U.S. and $1,299 in Canada. As Sony’s entry-level offering for 2025, the BRAVIA 2 II remains one of the most affordable options from the company.
Next is the BRAVIA 5, featuring Mini LED technology. This model will be available in multiple sizes, starting at $1,699 in the U.S. for the 55-inch model, and $1,999 in Canada.
The 65-inch version is priced at $1,799 in the U.S. and $2,099 in Canada, while the 75-inch model costs $2,399 in the U.S. and $2,799 in Canada. Higher-end sizes are available, with the 98-inch commanding a hefty $6,499 in the U.S. and $8,499 in Canada.
Finally, the BRAVIA 8 II, Sony’s latest QD-OLED TV, carries an eye-watering starting price of $3,499 in the U.S., and $4,299 in Canada for the 55-inch model. The 65-inch variant is priced at $3,999 in the U.S. and $4,999 in Canada.
While the BRAVIA 8 II boasts impressive technology, the price tag may deter many potential buyers.
