Supergiant Games has officially announced that Hades II will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 before being released on other console platforms. The game will also be available on the original Nintendo Switch family of devices simultaneously. Although an official launch date for Hades II has not yet been revealed, this confirmation marks an exciting development for Nintendo users. Currently, Hades II is accessible on PC in early access, allowing players to dive into the game right now.
Additionally, for those interested in handheld gaming, it can also be played on devices like the ROG Ally X or Steam Deck. However, if you’re looking to enjoy it on consoles, the first opportunity will be with Nintendo systems. Supergiant Games provided details about this console launch during a ‘Creator’s Voice’ video on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel. The game is set to launch for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on the same day it exits early access for PC and Mac, creating a synchronized release across those platforms.
Looking ahead, Supergiant Games has not provided any specifics about a potential launch on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. However, given that all their previous titles have been available on these platforms, it’s reasonable for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players to anticipate eventual access to Hades II. The previous release strategy for the original Hades game mirrored this approach, starting with PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch before expanding to PlayStation and Xbox. As for performance, Supergiant Games has assured fans that Hades II will run smoothly on both Nintendo Switch consoles, achieving a steady 60 frames per second.
Studio Director Amir Rao emphasized the team’s commitment to high performance, mentioning the potential to enhance graphical features further on the Switch 2. Regardless of which version players choose, a seamless gaming experience awaits in Hades II, slated for a full launch in 2025.
