Google Search Introduces Hidden Game to Let Users Catch Pokémon While Searching Online
Google has launched an exciting Easter egg within its Search platform that allows users to catch all 151 original Pokémon. To participate, simply type in the name of a Pokémon in the Google Search bar, and a Poké Ball icon will appear at the bottom right of the screen. Tapping this icon allows you to add that Pokémon to your virtual Pokédex. This interactive minigame is available on Android, iOS, and mobile web, but users must be signed into their Google account to save their progress.
The Pokémon franchise gained massive popularity with the release of Pokémon Go in 2016, developed by Niantic. However, over time, the game’s user base declined. Just when fans thought the Pokémon craze might be waning, Google partnered with the franchise to introduce this playful Easter egg. The new feature invites users to embark on a nostalgic journey to catch beloved Pokémon characters.
Once you search for a Pokémon, if you haven’t caught it yet, a silhouette will be displayed. To identify and catch it, players can engage with the “Who’s that Pokémon?” game. If guessing proves challenging, they can get a hint by tapping the “start with a hint” button.
This adds an extra layer of fun, reminiscent of the classic Pokémon gameplay. Moreover, catching specific Pokémon can unlock powerful Master Balls, which allow you to capture legendary Pokémon like Articuno, Mewtwo, and Raikou. The ultimate goal is to successfully capture all 151 Pokémon. This latest addition to Google Search is a delightful way for fans to relive their Pokémon adventures while discovering new ways to engage with the franchise.
