There is a small chance that users of the Samsung Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 series may receive the One UI 7 update sooner than anticipated. Recent information shared in a rollout schedule for China and Hong Kong suggests an early release, but it is important to note that this timeline may not apply to global markets. This situation diverges significantly from earlier reports regarding the update schedule.
According to details from the Samsung Members app, those with Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 devices could potentially see the update as soon as this month. However, this seems somewhat unrealistic for users outside of China and Hong Kong. The tentative list of devices set for an April 2025 rollout includes the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, and several Galaxy Tab models, among others.
For the following month, May 2025, devices slated for the update include the Galaxy Tab S8 series, as well as various models from the Galaxy A and M series. Contrastingly, the original rollout plan in South Korea proposed a distribution across April, May, and June, listing the Galaxy S23 series for an April update and the Galaxy S22 and S21 series for May. However, Samsung had to pause the update rollout due to identified bugs, which has hampered the preliminary schedule.
Following a brief interruption, updates have since resumed. While the update for One UI 7 is on the horizon, it appears unlikely that the new schedules from China and Hong Kong will be applicable to global users. Thus, a cautious approach should be taken regarding expectations for early availability in international markets.
