This week, Nintendo unveiled the highly anticipated Switch 2, revealing not only its launch date set for June 5 but also a lineup of games that will be available at launch. The collection includes a blend of exclusive titles and several third-party games, showcasing what players can expect once the console becomes available. The Switch 2 is designed to offer a significant upgrade in power over its predecessors: the original Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED models.

However, this enhanced performance comes with a price increase; the console will retail for $449.99, and there are concerns that new tariffs could push the price even higher. Additionally, Nintendo has delayed pre-orders that were initially scheduled to begin on April 9. For those interested in bundles, a special edition will include a digital copy of Mario Kart World for $499.99.

On launch day, there will be a total of 21 games available, but only three of these will be exclusive to the Switch 2. Many titles will also be familiar to fans, as they were previously available on other Switch models or are being ported from different platforms. Among these is the much-discussed Cyberpunk 2077, which promises to be an impressive feat of performance for the new console.

The exclusive day-one titles are Mario Kart World, Survival Kids, and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. Other notable games include enhanced versions of popular titles like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Plus, players can look forward to a diverse range of games, including Street Fighter 6, Hogwarts Legacy, and more.

Beyond June, Nintendo has ambitious plans, with more games set to launch throughout the summer. Exclusive titles like Donkey Kong Bananza on June 17 and others planned for later this year and into 2026, including the highly anticipated Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, show that Nintendo aims to keep the momentum going following the Switch 2 release.
