It is now possible to enroll the Google Pixel 9a in the Android Beta Program, enabling users to install the Android 16 Beta 4 update. After enrollment, users must wait for a notification to begin the installation process. Yesterday, Google teased the upcoming Android 16 Beta 4 update, which was rolled out to users with compatible devices today.

Now, the Pixel 9a is included in this group. Typically, Google allows its Pixel devices to participate in the Android Beta Program, with some exceptions. For a device to be eligible, it must be sufficiently new to receive the upcoming Android 16 stable release, expected in June.

As the latest offering from Google, it was anticipated that the Pixel 9a would eventually be included in the beta program. Today marks the day that the Pixel 9a can officially enroll in the Android 16 Beta program, coinciding with the launch of the fourth beta update. This beta is the last opportunity for users to participate before the stable version is released in June.

For Pixel 9a owners wishing to join the Android 16 beta, enrollment is necessary to receive the beta software update over-the-air. While users could manually install the beta through factory images, enrolling is the simpler method, allowing them to wait for the update notification. Alternatively, users can check for the update’s availability in the settings menu after enrollment.

Currently, the only method to get Android 16 Beta 4 on the Pixel 9a is through the enrollment process. While factory images and OTA sideloading options may become available later, they are not yet accessible at this time.
