The Galaxy S25 series has made a significant impact in the market, achieving sales figures up to three times higher than those of its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 series, within the first month of launch. Among its variants, the Ultra model stands out as the most popular. However, it’s essential to keep in mind various factors that might influence these early sales numbers. Recent data from Hana Securities suggests that around 4.56 million units of the Galaxy S25 series have been sold since its debut.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra has been particularly successful, with approximately 2.55 million units sold. The base S25 model follows with 1.17 million, while the S25 Plus has accounted for roughly 840,000 sales. Interestingly, the S Plus models are facing a trend similar to what Apple experienced with its iPhone Plus variants, showing a decline in popularity. For context, the previous Galaxy S24 series sold about 1.42 million units during its first month.

Despite the initial surge for the S25, it is worth noting that the Galaxy S24 outperformed its successors after the pre-order phase ended. Following this period, the S24 series maintained stronger sales, totaling around 240,000 units, compared to the Galaxy S25 series, which saw approximately 180,000 units. Several factors may contribute to the S25’s initial strong sales, including a shifted launch schedule and enticing early discounts. Retailers like Amazon are currently offering significant reductions, with some discounts reaching up to $254.99 off the Galaxy S25 models.

In wider terms, Samsung sold 19.03 million smartphones in February, reflecting a slight dip of 3% from January but an impressive 15% increase from February 2024. Samsung had announced plans to produce 2 million more units of the Galaxy S25 series compared to the S24, indicating a bullish outlook on its new line.
