Eligible Galaxy devices are now receiving their latest monthly security patch. Samsung has already distributed the update to its flagship phones, including the Galaxy S25 series, which saw a slightly delayed rollout. Currently, the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy A16 are among the latest devices to receive the March 2025 security update. Samsung fans have a fondness for the Galaxy S21 series, as these devices built upon the solid foundations established by the Galaxy S20 range.

This lineup is notable for being one of the last flagships to feature a prominent camera island before Samsung embraced a more minimalist design approach. In contrast, the Galaxy A16 is a newer model offering impressive specifications at an affordable price. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 FE represents the latest entry in Samsung’s “pseudo-flagship” category. As for the updates, the Galaxy S24 FE had previously begun receiving the March patch, but this was limited to the international variant (SM-S721B).

Now, Samsung is extending the update to US carrier-locked units, with the firmware designated as build number S721USQS3AYB1. Customers with AT&T and Cricket are among the first to report availability, with more US carriers expected to follow soon. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are also in line for the March 2025 security patch, although the initial rollout is occurring exclusively in South Korea. These devices, identified by model numbers SM-G991N (S21), SM-G996N (S21 Plus), and SM-G998N (S21 Ultra), are currently updating under build numbers G991NKSS8GYC1, G996NKSS8GYC1, and G998NKSS8GYC1, respectively.

Lastly, the budget-friendly Galaxy A16 stands out with impressive longevity, receiving promises of up to six years of OS updates and security patches. The international variant of this phone (SM-A165F) is receiving the March patch, designated as build number A165FXXS2AYB2. All the models mentioned are anticipated to be eligible for the Android 15-based One UI 7 update, although users may need to exercise some patience.
